Description

This listing features a rare Durant Plastics VW "The Thing" toy vehicle in very good condition for it's age. The car measures approx. 11 x 5 x 6 inches and is complete with no breaks. It's made entirely out of plastic except for the axles. It does exhibit signs of normal play wear. The chrome finish on the lights and rims are missing paint and the Tootsietoy "Trac-Masters" wheels have scratches. The roof, body and undercarriage have some light scratches as well but I would think that a good cleaning and a wipe down with a plastic cleaner would do much to improve the looks of this vehicle. My guess is that these were made in 1973 or 1974 around the same time Volkswagen offered "The Thing" for sale in the US automobile market.
